PEDLEY RALLYING

in association with BOB PEDLEY SAFETY SERVICES and COMPLETE TECHNOLOGY LIMITED

Brief History

The Pedley family has been involved in rallying in varying capacities over the last thirty years, from competing, organising, marshalling to spectating.

The elder statesman is Bob senior who was a leading light in Knowldale Car Club in Rochdale, Lancs. for many years and includes in his C.V. Organising the Mini Miglia Road Rally, Servicing on the RAC rally for club members John Clegg and Mike Sutcliffe, and competing mainly with his son Dave on many North West road rallies in the seventies. The family tradition was continued by Bob's four sons, Bob junior, Dave, Ian and Chris.

Bob junior was also involved in Knowldale in the seventies, his interest eventually leading to him co-driving on the Kuwait National Rally whist working in the country during the eighties.

Dave was drawn into the sport by the interest of Dad and brother Bob and also competed in road rallies in the late seventies culminating in the Tour of Mull on two occasions in 1977 and 1978. He campaigned a Hillman Imp and then later a Sunbeam Stiletto

Youngest brother Chris was also hooked on the sport and made his debut on “The Best Rally in the World” The Tour of Mull in 1986, after which family commitments took over until very recently.

Chris junior had been introduced to rallying at the tender age of two years old when he spectated on the Tour of Mull and the RAC Rally within a couple of months, and ever since it has been cars, cars and more recently rally cars. As soon as he passed his test it became obvious that his next  move would be a rally car. The Metro was purchased in November 2002 and the Pedley family became reunited with the sport that has given so much pleasure over so many years.
